We will be looking for state contestants who best exemplify the charismatic qualities of a role model and posses leadership skills, as well as confidence, poise, and grace.
Our State Executive Directors, and corporate judging captains will address and instruct the judges on procedure and criteria in selecting the new 2019 - 20 state titleholders for each state. These titleholders should be confident, true to themselves, and an inspiration to other women across America. She should have goals, passions, enthusiasm and charisma. She must also exemplify these qualities necessary to embrace a State and National Title should she succeed at these levels.
A team of qualified pageant judges will have the responsibility of selecting a winner from the young women who are competing for their state titles. The new state winners will be meeting VIP's throughout the state and nation, making public appearances, speaking in public, invitation to celebrity events and more throughout their reign as they represent THE PAGEANT International USA - is a prestigious pageant system throughout the United States.
The judging will be divided into 4 segments of competition - Personal Interview, Oral Expression and On Stage Introduction, Swimsuit and Evening Gown.
Preliminary judging will be conducted during the pre-pageant show the night before the finale. The preliminary show will consist of, Swimsuit and Evening Gown.
Main Show "THE PAGEANT"
All state contestants will perform a special choreographed Opening Dance Routine and introduce themselves in front of a live audience! This is where all the exhilaration and excitement begins! The Top finalist will be selected and will re-compete in the Swimsuit segment of the show. The scores are tabulated and the Top state finalist are selected to compete in the Evening Gown Competition. Then the Top Five will compete in the final On Stage Question segment of the show.
*If there is a tie in scoring, the judges will use the scores from the Personal Interview.
Personal Interview 40% of Overall Score
Each state finalist will be interviewed individually in a Panel Style format by judges during the Personal Interview segment of the competition. The judges will have approximately 4 minutes with each delegate.
Judging Criteria: Personality, Self-Expression, Perception and Knowledge. Appearance, Grooming, Voice and use of Vocabulary are also of importance.
Runway Fashion (Modeling) - National Pageant Only*
This is the modeling segment of the competition and is designed to allow each contestant to express her own sense of style. This part of the competition is upbeat, trendy, and extremely fashionable. All delegates are encouraged to wear her on personal sense of fashion.
Judging Criteria: Personality, High Energy, Confident, Glamorous, Overall Appearance, Sense of Style and Stage Presence.
Gown 25% of Overall Score
This is the face and grace of the pageant. You will be scored in 3 locations on the stage. (Left, Center, and Right) Contestants will grace the runway in a full length gown of her choice. Your gown should be age appropriate and flattering for your figure type. State Finalist will be judged on poise, grace, elegance and overall appearance in their presentation of the evening gown competition. Gowns should be elegant and floor length
Judging Criteria: Evening Gown should be age appropriate. The contestant should be confident, displays stage presence, poise, personality, charm, style, charisma, grace, execution and overall appearance.
Swimsuit 25% of Overall Score
The competition will be scored in 3 locations on stage. (Left, Center and Right) State Finalist will have the option of wearing a Sarong.The sarongs can be worn as you model your swimsuit on stage. The sarong must be removed before you reach the end of the runway where the judges will be anchored on both sides of the stage.
Judging Criteria: Posture and Execution of modeling technique and movement, confidence, poise and choice of swimsuit. Contestants should consider the style swimsuit for their figure type. Your swimsuit choice should tasteful and non offensive.
Oral Expression and Introduction 10% of Overall Score
All contestants will be scored on their stage oral introduction. Each delegate will briefly introduce themselves stating their name, age, city they are representing and state their platform they are promoting or their favorite charity of their choice or her platform .
Judging Criteria: Articulation, use of vocabulary, poise, appearance and confidence. 15 Second time limit! No exceptions
On Stage Question (Top 5 Only)
Only the Top Five Delegates in each division will be scored in this segment. The Top Five Contestants will select a prepared question from the Pageant Emcee. Each judge will issue a score beteen 1 and 5 after each delegate has answered her question. This score is then added to her overall compettion score. This total score will determine the official overall rank for the Top Five Delegates.
Judging Criteria: Knowledge, spontaneity, vocabulary, personality, confidence, and sense of values.
Judging Guidelines - State Winners / All Divisions
The selected young ladies should be polished, well groomed, physically fit, enthusiastic, and of Good and Moral Character. She will also have a good sense of style, be willing to travel and participate in scheduled events throughout her reign as the State Titleholder.
Overall, she should be well rounded, articulate, polished, warm and a "together" young woman who can inspire those around her. She should be ready to take on the title without needing much preparation. However, each Executive State Director will be responsible for assisting and preparing her state titleholders for the National Competition.
She will embrace a natural personality and exuberance. She will know who she is and what she believes and express the desire and capability of being a role model among her peers.
She should always be friendly, vivacious, and energetic, while being poised and articulate.
She will have a clear sense of direction for a young woman of her age and the ability to express herself accordingly.
She should be ambitious, possess personal goals, have a strong sense of self and the desire and ability to be a role model for a women of her age, as well as teens and children.
She should be able to walk the stage with grace, and dignity and be ready to meet the challenges of being the new State Titleholder.
